February 17, 2019: Finished Melt the Ice Away. Next up is Me Hate You. Just a note, I know the Guitar Pro files may be screwed up in terms of the musical directions. I tab in powertab and then import into Guitar Pro. I have to fix the bends a little bit but that's all I do. The musical directions don't import well so if you playback the file it may skip around. Actually, I noticed a bug in powertab as well that if you have a D.S. back to a repeat bar it doesn't repeat anymore. These are all reasons why I may switch to Sibelius completely and just print PDFs.
February 11, 2019: Finished Bullet To The Brain and Last Dying Wish.
January 26, 2019: I'm going to try and finish the Dystopia songs, finally got the motivation back. I just fixed a note in Conquer or Die solo, I figured it was wrong but I put what I hear. I had Jordan Baker check it and I was an octave too high.
December 27, 2016: I've been thinking about trying to finish an unofficial KIMB tablature book but it could only happen if people were willing to pay for it. The free tabs would stay up but the new versions would look like your standard professional tab [vocal lines included] and also include a few fixes here and there. I wouldn't publish a book, instead I'd just send out the PDFs as people requested. I would think $3 a song is pretty fair, or $20 for the album [minus These Boots].
If you would be interested in this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know. If there's enough interest maybe I'll do it. As of now I have Last Rites and Looking Down the Cross 99% finished, and Rattlehead about 90% finished. For a preview of what these could look like, here's a snapshot from Last Rites tab [notice the fixed verse riff]. Click to see preview
May 02, 2016: After a hiatus, finished the rhythm for Death From Within. Because I don't know how long it will take before I can finish it, I'm uploading just the rhythm now. I also didn't tweak the Guitar Pro file much, just imported and fixed a few things. So the levels may be off a little but I'll try to fix that when the solos are added. I think I'll finish the rhythms for the rest of the songs and then slowly add the leads.
February 28, 2016: Look Who's Talking was added, also fixed a few positions in Threat is Real and Dystopia after seeing live videos of them.
February 24, 2016: Post American World was added, Look Who's Talking is next.
February 12, 2016: Added Poisonous Shadows.
February 03, 2016: Added Conquer Or Die and Lying In State.
January 29, 2016: Dystopia has been added. I should mention the powertabs I write to be as correct as possible for notation purposes but the playback is pretty bad at times due to the MIDI. The Guitar Pro files I just import the powertab and fix the problems that happen with a little tweaking to make it sound close. If anyone out there wants to improve the sound of these Guitar Pro files please feel free. There will also be other problems probably, like Rehearsal sign errors or whatever, but again ... I'm just throwing these GPro files together quickly to get a good draft up for the people who learn with this program.
January 28, 2016: I've been trying to pursue publishing tablature "professionally" for smaller bands but nothing has happened yet. I even went after Megadeth and got as far as Dave Mustaine handing it off to management, but there it stalled. So back to what I've been doing for 16 years, posting them on this site.
I will ask that if you appreciate all the work that is required for these tablatures then please consider donating to my paypal ID:
Any amount you can donate will help me finish the new album and possibly do other work for my other sites much quicker.
One other note, I may stop doing text tabs. I can now use Sibelius which is professional software to write music. I was going to do the whole album like that but it's too much work for free. So I plan on doing powertabs, guitar pro, and a PDF export of the powertab. That could change of course depending on how many donations I recieve. I've put the book format version of Fatal Illusion on the page so you can see what it looks like [it looks much nicer if you download it because my browser plugins seem to lower the quality a little]. I think the only thing missing is the harmony vocals and maybe the pitches on the ending vocals. But hey, that way I'll know where it came from if I see it on another site right? ;)
December 05, 2014: Fixed verse riff in "This Was My Life", it's all open D string hammer-ons when it's two notes, plus missed a root note.
August 06, 2013: Finished "Chosen Ones".
July 19, 2013: Finished "Rattlehead" solos. "Chosen Ones" will be next.
July 15, 2013: Finished "Looking Down the Cross" and "Killing Is My Business". "Rattlehead" and "Chosen Ones" coming up next....though the text tabs have already had their rhythms updated.
July 03, 2013: Finished "Last Rites/Loved to Deth" and "Mechanix". "Skull Beneath the Skin" and "Looking Down the Cross" will be done soon. For "Last Rites", I fixed the verse riff and the solo. "Mechanix" also had some changes to the solo.
July 02, 2013: I decided to make one last effort to go
through and recheck/finish all Megadeth songs. I'm going to start at album 1,
track 1. I'm making this statement here so you can call to my attention
any part of any Megadeth song that you feel I have wrong or you've seen
Dave/whoever play in a different position. When I get to that song I'll
pay more attention to that part.
Joseph Bewick donated a bunch of bass/drum tabs in Guitar Pro, as well as Francesco Cartier submitting bass/drums in Guitar Pro for the new album, so that made me want to go through and polish things one last time. Any bassists out there please let me know if you disagree with the bass as I don't really listen for that, I just change positions sometimes if I think it needs it.
Btw, I have master tracks for Peace Sells and RIP album. If anyone gets a hold of other master tracks please let me know, it makes it much easier. I also have Sudden Death guitar iso but that song is pretty much done.
June 26, 2013: Added "Beginning Of Sorrow", so now the entire album is finished. I'll update the Guitar Pro 6 files with bass/drums as Francesco sends them in.
June 21, 2013: Added bass and drums to "Built For War", "Off The Edge", "Blackest Crow", "Forget to Remember", and "Don't Turn Your Back...". Thanks goes to Francesco Cartier for providing these.
June 18, 2013: Added "A House Divided".
June 16, 2013: Added "Burn!".
June 12, 2013: Added "Forget to Remember" and "Don't Turn Your Back". "Burn!" has rhythms finished, just need to add solos.
June 07, 2013: Added "Cold Sweat" and "All I Want".
June 05, 2013: Added "Dance In The Rain".
June 04, 2013: Added "Built For War" and "Off The Edge". "Dance In The Rain" is next.
May 29, 2013: "Super Collider" guitar pro file now has bass/drums. Also added "The Blackest Crow".
May 26, 2013: Thanks goes to Francesco Cartier for adding drums and bass to the Guitar Pro file. Hopefully he can add more for the new album.
May 23, 2013: Added "Kingmaker".
April 26, 2013: Added the page for "Super Collider", as well as the tab for that track.
September 25, 2012: Jordan Baker fixed a couple of songs. "Hangar 18" now has the center channel guitar in the intro, and "Lucretia" had the center channel guitar added throughout, as well as some minor solo tweaks.
December 22, 2011: Fixed a typo in “We The People” chorus, the ending single note thing was a string too high.
December 05, 2011: Added “Millennium of the Blind”.
November 21, 2011: Added “Wrecker”. These text tabs were made quickly so if you find anything wrong, even typos, please let me know. Solos will come in the future, just no clue when.
November 17, 2011: Added “We The People”, “Millennium of the Blind”, and “13”. “Wrecker” shouldn’t take long either, then all the rhythms are done. Not sure when I’ll get to solos.
November 12, 2011: Added a lot of rhythm text tabs for the new album. I’ll try to finish the rhythms first, then when I get time in the future I’ll fill in the solos and put the powertabs out.
October 27, 2011: Added "Sudden Death" to the new album page. I made some changes to the non-album version, that can be found in the miscellaneous section. There are a few differences between the single and album version of this song, the big change being the solo rhythm under Chris's last solo. Also fixed a few things in "Public Enemy No. 1", nothing big. "Never Dead" is next, rhythm is already done so I just have to finish the solos. Then I'll probably finish the songs that were already released in the past since I have tabs for those already.
October 05, 2011: Added the page for the new album, "Th1rt3en". Finished the single that was released, "Public Enemy No. 1". Some things could change once the studio version is released but I figured I'd put it up now anyway.
Also listened to the master tracks for Rust In Peace album, so I was able to fix some minor things here and there for almost every song. For example, one thing was the rhythm before Marty's solo in Lucretia. It turns out the Left/Right channel guitars play something a little different than that Center channel, so that's been noted.
January 14, 2011: Fixed a few things in "Sudden Death", mainly Broderick's fill after the first chorus.
October 15, 2010: Finished “Sudden Death”, it’s in the Miscellaneous section, or just click HERE.
August 20, 2010: Fixed some things in "Holy Wars" and "Hangar 18", including a solo rhythm fix for Hangar. Also put a Guitar Pro version of Holy Wars up, the Guitar Pro for Hangar will be up soon, as well as slightly modificd "Peace Sells" with Guitar Pro file as well.
May 17, 2010: Started puttings songs into Guitar Pro 6 format. Because of the RSE in Guitar Pro the playback sounds much better than normal MIDI. To save time though I didn't add every little detail that the Powertabs have, such as chord names. The Powertabs aren't going away, I just was impressed with the new version of Guitar Pro so I'll now have both formats available.
The entire Endgame album has been converted. The tabs "1,320" and "Endgame" have playback issues due to bugs in Guitar Pro but the notation and everything is correct. So if you download those and notice the problems, hopefully by just updating the program whenever they have a bug fix it will fix the playback.
